New Eltima's monitoring product produces contradictory impression after its testing. The installation process is easy and clear and the first thing that arrests the attention is the function, very few of keyloggers in our testing possess, namely "Configurable self-removal".
The first thing that bursts upon eyes after finishing the installation process is pleasant to look at, comprehensible interface that is also peculiar to another Eltima's monitoring product Powered Keylogger. Intercepted information is grouped into categories for convenient viewing, searching of how to turn on or off a particular function takes little time — everything is simple and logically arranged. High stealthiness rate of Advanced Keylogger is also worth praising — keylogger's files can be found neither in Task Manager, nor on the disk, nor anywhere else.
Nevertheless, along with all the pluses of the keylogger it has a series of essential minuses that can all be united under the common title — "Low functionality". While absence of such functions as "System inactivity time recording" and "Email interception" is natural as the majority of keyloggers do not have them implemented, such functions as "Mouse-clicks recording" and "Started applications monitoring" are widespread. Unfortunately, we haven't found them in Advanced Keylogger. Additionally, we should also note the low interception in browsers (only web-links in IE were recorded) and total absence of file-activity monitoring. As to chat-interception this is not the strongest point of Advanced Keylogger — for all the five chats only one-sided interception is possible.
We found only some filtering options in Advanced Keylogger, namely: "Events duration", "Automated clearance of a log-file". What also cannot, but disappoint is the absence of such a trivial function as "Search by keywords". As for "Visual surveillance", the keylogger takes the middle position — it intercepts neither more nor less than the major part of monitoring products.
Summing up we can say that Advanced Keylogger will come in handy for all the users who value stealthiness, high usability and attractive design, but pay less attention to the functionality.
