Powered Keylogger Review
Good keylogger with really nice interface. Doesn't support Windows 10, so should be used on 2000, XP, Vista or 7. Better used for home monitoring. In our testing, it gets 454 out of possible 1172 points.Advantages:
- Attractive, user-friendly interface
- Function of logs copying to a portable device
- Grouping of the intercepted information into categories
- Great URL interception
- Mouse-clicks recording
- High stealthiness rate
- System inactivity time recording
Disadvantages:
- One side interception in messengers
- Zero file activity monitoring
- No clipboard interception
- A bulk of pre-installation settings
Unfortunately, the installation of Powered Keylogger lasts for rather a long time. The reason for this is a large number of pre-installation settings. The windows that should be gone through in order to start the installation are the following: EULA, the window telling you how to install and uninstall the product, the next one, asking you to choose the components of the program to install, the one, asking you whether you want the program to be seen in Safe Mode or be completely invisible and asking you to create a password, and, at last, the final one, showing you the type of the installation and all the selected components to check again before starting the installation. The positive side is that the application does not ask you for the folder of installation and doesn't require a reboot to start its work. The window, reminding you the set password, appears when you launch the software for the first time after the installation — this will happen only once. What we really like is that you don't need to press any hotkeys and then put in your password to a specific window — in order to unlock the program you should just type your password wherever you want, and, as a result, the program menu will appear.
Powered Keylogger menu is one of the most attractive menus among those, keyloggers on our website have. The product is very pleasant to look at, all the intercepted information is grouped into categories, all the settings are easy to find, the log files are convenient to read — the keylogger is pleasant to work with.
The program has a lot of strong points — it is completely hidden (no icons, no menus in Start menu, no processes in Task Manager and no folders were found by our team), has such rare functions implemented as "System inactivity time recording" and interception of mouse-clicks, the interception of URLs is perfect — all the URLs in all of the browsers in our testing were intercepted. The thing that definitely should be noted is that Powered Keylogger has the most brilliant implementation of the "Logs copied to a portable device" function — the keylogger has a separate menu in Settings called "Prepare flash-drive" where you can configure what logs to copy and the behavior of your PC after the copying — you can configure your PC to beep after the copying is complete, double-beep if some errors happen while copying, and clear copied log from the PC.
Unfortunately, the keylogger has its weak points and some of them are significant. One of them is only one-side interception of all the messengers in our testing. The other one is zero file-activity monitoring. The disadvantage of the software is the absence of such functions as "Clipboard interception", "Monitoring scheduler" and the absence of any of the automatical log-clearing functions.
The software producer's site does not mention Windows 10 OS support. We have tested that ourselves : the product has been successfully installed and launched but it does not perform the described functions.
Summing up we can say that Powered Keylogger is a very attractive and user-friendly keylogger that will easily cope with the majority of monitoring aims and come in handy for both parents and employers.
